Deck Officer/DPO

Dynamic Positioning Operator is a person who in charge of control DP system. DP is an automated computer system which keeps a vessel in its specified position or heading in deeper waters where anchoring or mooring is not feasible. In the oil and gas industry, dynamic positioning is used to keep floating vessels such as semi-submersibles and MODUs in position above the well where they might otherwise be moved by wind, waves or currents. Deck Officer 는 선박의 운항 및 선적된 화물을 관리하는 업무를 수행하며, Dynamic Positioning Operator는 기본적인 DP 시스템의 작동 및 운용업무를 수행하는 기술자로 Oil & Gas 를 시추하고 생산하는 해양플랜트(FPSO, Semi-Rig)의 Heading과 Position을 유지하는 업무를 수행한다.
